The Australian was very complimentary toward the Celtic man.

Speaking to reporters via The Glasgow Evening Times, Australia manager Ange Postecoglou has praised Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic.

The 23-year-old jetted off for international duty this month in the knowledge that he has been one of Celtic’s best players this season.

Rogic’s game looks to have come on a lot since Brendan Rodgers took over from Ronny Deila in the summer, with the young man netting five goals from eight starts in all competitions for the Bhoys so far.

He has, however, struggled to bring his goalscoring form with him to Australia, having not found the net in his last five internationals.

Nevertheless, Postecoglu is delighted with the Hoops ace – who has Australia goals to his name overall – and says he is always capable of adding to his haul.

“Tommy has been outstanding so far in this series. He hasn’t got a goal yet but I’m sure he’s got that in him,” he told reporters, quoted by The GET.

“We’ve been really close. The pleasing thing for us is that we’ve got multiple avenues and we know where our goals are coming from because we work on it.”

Rogic, who started the draws with Japan and Saudi Arabia in recent days, will now jet back to Glasgow but such globetrotting feats mean that Rodgers may rest him for Saturday’s visit of Motherwell.

It is a game that Celtic could and maybe should win without him, given the Hoops’ form this season, but it remains to be seen if he will play.
