As Rangers’ search for a new manager goes on, Ange Postecoglou – who had reportedly been interested – looks to have suggested a move is unlikely.

Rangers are still on the lookout for a new manager after Pedro Caixinha’s sacking late last month.
Caretaker boss Graeme Murty has overseen back-to-back wins in the subsequent two Scottish Premiership matches, but they are down in fourth in the league table, six points off rivals, champions and leaders Celtic.
And so the club are looking for an appointment who can finally bridge that gap over the coming years.
Ange Postecoglou is one name who has been mentioned and, according to ESPN, he is keen on taking the job in Glasgow.

But the Australia coach did not sound quite so eager when questioned about the vacancy ahead of a key World Cup play-off against Honduras, dismissing the link completely as he insisted his focus remains on the Socceroos.
“[It’s] speculation, mate,” Postecoglou said, as reported by Goal.com. “The only thing on my radar is these two games.
“That’s where all my energy is, that’s where all my focus is and that’s what’s most important. Anything on that is not even on my radar.”
While Rangers do not quite boast the same pull they once had, these comments should hardly come as a blow as they look set to miss out on a manager whose recent record is rather ordinary.

Australia performed well despite losing all three games at the 2014 World Cup, but their attempts to reach next year’s finals have been almost disastrous.
Scraping to third place in their AFC qualifying group and so facing Syria for a place in the play-offs, the Socceroos almost came undone again in that clash and the pressure is very much on Postecoglu.
Gers fans will know all too well the feeling of a proud, successful footballing side struggling to match previous performances…
