Austin Reaves delivered a memorable comeback after Luka Doncic joked that his Los Angeles Lakers teammates failed to get him a birthday gift.

Doncic, who turned 27 on February 28, made the comment following the Lakers’ commanding win over the Golden State Warriors.

The playful remark set up one of the more entertaining locker room exchanges of the night.

Austin Reaves responds to Luka Doncic’s birthday joke

Fresh off a 129-101 victory in which he recorded 26 points, eight assists and six rebounds, Doncic teased during his on-court interview that no one had given him a present.

The teasing continued in the locker room when Doncic interrupted Reaves’ media availability by throwing two towels in his direction. Reaves immediately shot back with his own punchline.

Luka Doncic: “Nobody gave me a gift yet, it’s crazy.”

Austin Reaves: “I actually got you a present, you freaking idiot!”

The quick exchange sparked laughter around the scrum and highlighted the easy rapport between the two guards.

Lakers momentum building on and off the floor

The light moment followed a dominant team performance, as Los Angeles controlled the matchup throughout the night.

Reaves added 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting with three assists, complementing Doncic and LeBron James in the victory.

The chemistry between Doncic and Reaves has been one of the big stories from this season, as the two are forming arguably the most dangerous backcourt in the NBA.

As the Lakers look to build consistency, the combination of strong results and visible camaraderie suggests confidence is growing within the group.
