The World Cup is just around the corner and Australia midfielder Jackson Irvine has showed his love for Celtic by arriving in Qatar in a Bhoys shirt.
Domestic action was winding down over the weekend with players now ready to make the trip over to Qatar.
This controversial World Cup kicks off on Sunday and league action is taking a back seat for the next month or so.
Players will be arriving in Qatar very soon and some Australia players have already arrived ahead of their game against France next Tuesday.
Jackson Irvine arrives in Qatar wearing Celtic shirt
Celtic fans may already have a soft spot for Australia in their hearts given that boss Ange Postecoglou hails from Down Under.
Yet Jackson Irvine is now trying to strengthen that bond even further based on his arrival into Qatar.
The St Pauli midfielder touched down in Qatar wearing a beautiful Celtic shirt with Mark Viduka’s name on the back.
This Umbro number from back in the late 1990’s is a favourite of Celtic fans and Irvine paid homage to Viduka.
VIduka smashed 35 goals in 48 games for Celtic and ended up becoming one of the most iconic Australian players in Premier League history.
Irvine himself has strong history with Celtic.
The 29-year-old joined Celtic from Melbourne Victory back in 2010 and spent five years on the books at Parkhead.
A first-team breakthrough never really came for Irvine but he has always held Celtic close to his heart since his time in Glasgow.
Now with 47 caps to his name – four more than Viduka managed in his career – Irvine is expected to play an important role for Australia in Qatar.
Celtic fans will love seeing that famous Bhoys shirt again and would no doubt love to see Australia stun a few at the World Cup.
