Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been tracking the Lyon ace all summer.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas spoke exclusively to RMC Sport today, and suggested that Tottenham’s proposed deal to sign Tanguy Ndombele is far from done.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that Spurs were inching ever closer to signing the France international, having agreed a £65 million deal for the midfield ace.
That report appears to be way off the mark, however.
Aulas spoke exclusively to RMC Sport today, and suggested that Tottenham have only actually offered £40 million for the 22-year-old, although he did claim that talks are still ongoing between the two clubs:
“The first offer Tottenham made was €45m. We’ve held discussions since, but nothing is done. I can assure you of that, and we’re not in a hurry either. Nothing is done and he’s one of our best players. As for how much he’s worth, I don’t know, but he’s worth more than €45m”.
This will be extremely worrying news for Spurs fans.
Ndombele is a class act, and the fact that Tottenham seem to be low-balling negotiations with Lyon could end up backfiring.

Daniel Levy and Aulas are both well-renowned for being hard-nosed businessmen, so something will have to give, if Ndombele is to head to Spurs this summer.
Tottenham will surely have to up their original offer for the midfielder, as in today’s market, it could be argued that the Frenchman is worth at least £60 million.
And Spurs fans will be hoping that Levy bites the bullet, and offers Lyon a more attractive proposal for Ndombele.
