It’s hard to put into words just how underwhelming Arsenal’s season has been.
The Gunners aren’t going to finish in the top four, they’re unlikely to finish in the top seven and after their first-leg loss to Villarreal, it seems as though they won’t be making the final of the Europa League either.
Indeed, Arsenal fans have had very little to shout about this season, and at one point they were genuinely spoken about as relegation candidates, but despite their poor showings, one man has stood out.
Of course, we’re talking about Bukayo Saka.
The teenager has been unbelievable this term, and at times he’s put the entire team on his back.
Ian Wright has claimed that the youngster been carrying the team this season, saying:
“I put him in there as a young player because of his emergence and what he’s done and the weight of the club he’s carrying. I hope things can change for him soon.”

It’s not just Wright who’s had praise for him, Gabriel Magalhaes has described him as a ‘revelation’ and it’s hard to disagree.
Let’s not forget this kid is just 19 years old, and for our money, he has to be the number one contender for Arsenal’s Player of the Year award.
No player at the Gunners has been as brilliant or as consistent as Saka, and while others such as Emile Smith Rowe have been solid, nobody has been on Saka’s level.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have won Arsenal’s Player of the Season award last time around, but now it’s surely time for his crown to be passed to Saka.
