Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang takes on Tottenham tonight.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed how close he was to signing for Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
Aubameyang told BILD that he visited Tottenham’s training ground and was ready to move, but the North London side never followed up their interest.
He admitted he was extra determined as a result to make Spurs pay when Dortmund visit Wembley this evening.

Aubameyang said: “I was at Tottenham back then, had a tour of the stadium and the training ground. We held talks.
“But after that nobody contacted me again. That’s definitely extra motivation for me on Wednesday.
The Mail reported this summer that Dortmund valued Aubameyang at £63 million.

He has already got one over on Spurs since, inspiring Dortmund to beat them in the Europa League in 2015/16 in the knockout rounds.
The Gabon international was a Saint-Etienne player in 2012, and had netted 18 goals in 38 games heading into that summer.
A year later he signed for Borussia Dortmund and has been prolific ever since signing.
He has scored 126 goals in 195 games for the club and aims to add to that tally at Wembley.
