Arsenal hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed on Instagram that he’s back in London and that his heart is ‘absolutely fine’ following a health scare earlier this month.

It was reported earlier this week that the Gunners marksman had returned to England after he and a number of Gabon teammates were diagnosed with ‘heart lesions’ prior to their Africa Cup of Nations opener.

With question marks over his health, a decision was taken that the Arsenal player would not compete at the tournament.

Aubameyang is now back in London and has confirmed via Instagram that he is ‘completely healthy’.

Brilliant update

This is excellent news for Aubameyang.

His reputation among Arsenal supporters has taken a hammering over the past six weeks or so, having been dropped by Mikel Arteta following disciplinary issues.

Aubameyang was also stripped of the captaincy for the same reason.

However, on a football and a human level, it’s brilliant to hear that he is perfectly fine in light of concerns that emerged in Cameroon on international duty.

It remains to be seen when he’ll be back in action for Arsenal because, as mentioned, even without the health scare he was very much in the doghouse at the Emirates Stadium.

But Arsenal supporters will surely welcome him back with open arms if and when Arteta decides to end his exile.
