Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been taking on ESPN’s ‘You Have to Answer’ challenge, and he’s been asked a few difficult questions.

The Gabonese striker had to make some difficult choices, choosing between options such as London or Barcelona, Kylian Mbappe or Thierry Henry and even Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the most difficult question Aubameyang was asked was when he was made to choose between two rival clubs – Tottenham and Real Madrid.

As a current Barcelona player, you may expect Aubameyang to steer clear of giving Madrid any sort of praise, but he couldn’t bring himself to choose Tottenham after his spell at Arsenal.

What’s been said?

Aubameyang was asked to choose between Spurs and Real Madrid and he quickly chose the Spanish giants over his old north London rivals.

“Real Madrid,” Aubameyang laughed.

Arsenal affection

Aubameyang may have left Arsenal in acrimonious circumstances earlier this year, but it sounds as though he still harbours a lot of affection for his old club.

To get a Barcelona player to praise Real Madrid is so rare, but despite playing for La Blaugrana now, Aubameyang seems to have more ill-will towards Spurs than Madrid.

Of course, Aubameyang has more experience in north London derbies than he does in El Clasico, and he clearly doesn’t like Tottenham.

In fact, last year he said he’d rather retire from playing football completely than join Tottenham, sharing the tale of how Spurs once tried to sign him.

“Retire. Even more because a couple of years ago, a few years ago. I was close to signing for Tottenham, but I don’t know what they did, so now I’d retire for sure. It was when I was at Saint-Etienne. I came here I went to the stadium as well at White Hart Lane, but the day later they never called back, so I was like ‘ok, no worries’,” Aubameyang said.

Aubameyang clearly still holds disdain for Tottenham, and Arsenal plans will probably love the fact that he’d pick Madrid over Spurs, despite his Barcelona allegiances.
