
Liverpool have had an impressive array of talents come through the Kirkby academy in recent years, and Neco Williams is just one of the players to establish themselves in the senior squad.
The Wales international is firmly Liverpool’s second-choice right-back behind fellow academy graduate Trent Alexander-Arnold. With Williams making 14 appearances last season.
And the defender was granted his first start of the season last night as Williams impressed for Liverpool in the 2-0 League Cup win against Preston North End.
Indeed, Williams played the entire game for the Reds. And post-match, the defender revealed that he would play anywhere on the pitch for Jurgen Klopp.
The 20-year-old right-back said via Liverpool’s official website: “Conor Bradley, a fantastic player, a young lad and great talent, he came on and went right-back and I went right-wing.
“Wherever the gaffer puts me I’m happy to play. He can put me striker, goalkeeper, anywhere, I’m happy to play.”
