Denmark are through to the World Cup finals in Russia next summer, after hammering the Republic of Ireland 5-1 in Dublin on Tuesday night.
A 0-0 draw in the first leg in Copenhagen left the tie finely poised, but after Shane Duffy’s opener for Ireland, Denmark ran riot at the Aviva Stadium.
Cyrus Christie’s own goal levelled the game, with Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen notching a hat-trick before Nicklas Bendtner scored from the penalty spot to make it 5-1.

Eriksen stole the limelight with his hat-trick, and Spurs will be hoping that he takes that form into this weekend’s North London derby – but manager Mauricio Pochettino should have also been impressed by Danish teammate Pione Sisto.
Celta Vigo winger Sisto, 22, has been one of Europe’s most exciting youngsters since emerging with Midtjylland, and he is really coming to the fore as a star for club and country.
With three goals and seven assists in 11 La Liga games this season, Sisto is starting to fulfil his potential, whilst he was a constant thorn in Ireland’s side on Tuesday night, teaming up with Eriksen to cause mayhem all night long.
James McLean of Ireland is challenged by Pione Sisto of Denmark
Tottenham have often been accused of not having enough pace in their attack, sparking rumours of a move for a player like Wilfried Zaha, but Sisto would almost certainly come at a cheaper price, whilst still offering speed, direction, dribbling ability and – most importantly – end product.
Spurs have attempted to bring through Georges-Kevin Nkoudou over the last year, but if Pochettino dips backs into the transfer market, reuniting Eriksen with Sisto should be appealing to Tottenham.
