In fact, the name itself may not mean much to a lot of Bhoys’ supporters regardless, due to his lack of impact in Glasgow.
But the Irish attacker, who kicked off his professional career at Lennoxtown, has just scored against Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Now playing for Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia, the 32-year-old opened the scoring in his side’s Europa Conference League trip to the Italian capital last night.
After 10 minutes, Carey capitalised on a defensive mix-up by Mourinho’s side and thumped the ball into the roof of the net with his left foot.
The Dubliner is making a bit of a name for himself again in this competition, with this being his fourth goal in seven games overall.

In total, Carey, who was on the end of a 5-1 demolition in the end after his strike in Rome, spent six years on Celtic’s books.
In 2011, the Hoops terminated the final year of his contract so that he could sign for St Mirren [BBC Sport].
Much of his time at Celtic was comprised of various loan spells, but he did make a senior debut for the Scottish giants and that came in the Europa League in December of 2009.
But that 12-minute cameo was his first and last senior appearance for the club.
