Leeds United winger Ian Poveda has told the Yorkshire Evening Post he was shocked by ‘everything’ when he first arrived at Elland Road.
Poveda joined Leeds from Manchester City in January, and he has had to bide his time as he has waited for opportunities in the first-team.
Poveda has shown real signs of promise in his cameo displays so far this season, though.
And the young winger admits that the move has now worked out even better than he was expecting.
“When I first came to the club I was a bit surprised by everything,” he said.
“I thought it was going to be a bit different but I really enjoy it. I didn’t think I was going to be as happy as I am now. With the staff, my team-mates I’m really happy, especially with the fans.”
Poveda could have a key role to play for Leeds as an impact substitute this term.
Marcelo Bielsa has already brought Poveda off the bench six times this season, although the 20-year-old is yet to start.

There is a growing feeling that Leeds could have picked up a bargain by bringing in Poveda on a free, as he seems to have the skill to hurt defences, even at the top level.
Leeds are next in action against Chelsea at the weekend, when Poveda may well be hoping to be backed to receive even more game time.
