It was a day to remember for Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish on Tuesday, after he helped England beat Germany 2-0 at Euro 2020.
The Villa playmaker came off the bench to help create the first and then assist the second as England beat Germany in a knockout game for the first time in 55 years.
Understandably, Grealish was lauded on Instagram for his performances, with many current and ex-players praising the Villa man.
TV pundit and former Villa defender, Micah Richards, wrote on Grealish’s Instagram post: “How many times do I have to say it! Just unreal.”
In truth, Richards has just summed up what Villa supporters have been saying about Grealish all along.
Back from his Championship days, those in Villa colours made it clear that their expert ball-carrier is the real deal and now he’s showcasing it for all to see.
Aston Villa duo, Matt Targett and Matty Cash, would have seen first-hand what Grealish is like on a regular basis on the training pitch.
Luke Shaw and Grealish combined in a brilliant fashion down that left-hand side, and someone like Targett is used to that on the domestic circuit.
Therefore, he would have seen familiar scenes when Grealish was combining well with the Manchester United man yesterday.
This is what both Targett and Cash posted on Twitter, after Grealish’s super-sub appearance against the German’s.
