Rory Wilson has just reposted Fabrizo Romano’s message on his Instagram story that he is about to join Aston Villa from Rangers.
The talented striker, who is 16-years-old, was attracting a lot of interest in England, including from Liverpool, but he is set to snub the Merseyside giants and join Steven Gerrard at Villa Park instead.
Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, posted on Twitter that Aston Villa are set to sign Wilson with ‘personal terms agreed’ and Gerrard playing a ‘main factor’ in the young Scot’s move – Wilson reposted this message on his IG story on Monday morning to all but confirm that move.

If and when this move does go through, then it will be the first Rangers player Gerrard signs since he swapped the Ibrox dugout for the one at Villa Park back in November.
Gerrard has endured a mixed time during his time as a Premier League manager, finishing in the bottom half with Villa, as they aim for Europe next season.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how Wilson is used by Villa because the Midlands side have a strong and ever-progressing academy on their hands.
Last summer, they sold Jack Grealish for £100 million to Manchester City and, most recently, Jacob Ramsey is starting to make a name for himself in the first-team, as well as their teenage star, Cameron Archer, who is another striker banging in the goals.
But Wilson is seen as one of the most prolific forwards at the youth level, scoring a ridiculous 49 goals during the recently-concluded campaign.
And now he faces the next chapter in his early footballing career, as he will join fellow Scot, John McGinn, in Claret & Blue colours.
McGinn is a firm fan favourite at Villa Park and if Wilson can follow in his steps during these coming years, then they have a seriously talented prospect.
