Leeds United and Manchester United have both eyed Matheus Cunha in recent times and Atletico Madrid now want to sell the Brazilian.
Atletico are always the team that you hate to face in the Champions League… well, at least until this season.
Diego Simeone’s men endured a dismal group stage campaign and not only crashed out, but didn’t even finish third to secure Europa League action.
Missing out on the knockout stages now leaves Atletico with a hole in their budget and some players need to be sold to balance the books.

Atletico could axe former Leeds and Manchester United target Matheus Cunha
Goal report that one name Atletico are open to selling is Brazilian ace Matheus Cunha.
It’s stated that Atletico would consider selling for a fee of around €35million (£30million) with a loan until the end of the season even a possibility.
Marca are reporting similar, suggesting that Cunha is available if anybody wants him in January.
Cunha has started just two La Liga games this season and in 372 minutes, he has yet to score a single goal.
It has been a similar story in the Champions League too; no starts, five substitute appearances, 117 minutes played, no goals.
The 23-year-old is being wasted in Madrid right now and it makes sense for all parties that he moves on.
England could be the destination for Cunha given the recent interest in his signature.
TalkSPORT reported in August that Manchester United were closing in on a deal to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Matheus Cunha.
The fee involved was around £42million but no deal was done – and United could feasibly sign Cunha for much cheaper now.
Then there is Leeds United.
Reports in Brazil suggested that Leeds were really pushing to sign Cunha and that Marcelo Bielsa personally asked Leeds to sign him in 2021.
Atletico were able to swoop in and beat Leeds to Cunha’s signature though.
Leeds do still need a striker and Victor Orta may be tempted to go back in for Cunha even with Bielsa now gone.
Cunha has previously shown his talent with Hertha Berlin and just needs to be played and valued with a new club – and some Premier League sides may well be keen again.
