Fenerbahce will reportedly make a decision this week on Diego Rossi, with Atlanta United interested in signing the 25-year-old attacker.

According to Turkish publication Yenicag, the Istanbul-based giants will decide soon on whether or not to transfer list the Uruguayan international, with Rossi a target for the Five Stripes.

Rossi is a name that shouldn’t be strange to MLS fans after the South American broke through with Los Angeles FC as one of their first-ever Designated Players before taking his talents to Europe via Fenerbahce.

Whilst the forward has impressed in Turkey, Fener are seemingly keen to offload Rossi, with a decision now expected to be made in the coming days over the rumored Atlanta target.

Indeed, a wide-attacker is high on the Five Stripes’ shopping list this summer. And Rossi with his MLS experience could be a dream signing for Atlanta heading into the second-half of the season.

Moreover, with a vacant Designated Player spot in the squad, Atlanta should face no issues in handing Rossi a lucrative salary, with the winger an ideal addition to Gonzalo Pineda’s squad.

Rossi was once billed as an MLS star who would make a name for themselves in Europe. And whilst the forward has impressed at times with Fenerbahce, the move seemingly hasn’t worked out for the best.

Which is why the Turkish side transfer listing Rossi could be a dream result for Atlanta, who can give the Uruguayan the platform needed to get back to his best in a league where he is a proven success.

Moreover, playing for a club with as passionate a fanbase as Atlanta’s could be a massive selling point for Rossi, who could be tempted to swap Istanbul for Georgia this summer.
