Atlanta United have reportedly made an offer for Hatayspor winger Saba Lobzhanidze, who is also a regular for the Georgia national team.
According to Turkish outlet Sports Digitale, the Five Stripes have made an opening bid to sign the 28-year-old attacker, with Hatayspor manager Volkan Demirel expected to soon make a decision on whether or not to sell Lobzhanidze to Atlanta.
Gonzalo Pineda’s side are on the lookout for a winger this summer, and Lobzhanidze could be an ideal fit for Atlanta, with the 32-time Georgia international capable of playing on both flanks and almost 300 appearances of top-flight football under his belt.
Coming through Georgian giants Dinamo Tbilisi’s academy, Lobzhanidze has seen his career take him to Denmark with Randers and Turkey with MKE Ankaragucu and now Hatayspor, with the winger spending last season out on loan at fellow Turkish Super Lig side Karagumruk, being signed by Italian legend Andrea Pirlo.
Indeed, Atlanta have already tipped into the European market this summer in the form of Tristan Muyumba, and the MLS giants could now be looking to make a similar move in the form of Lobzhanidze, who could be a great pickup at a bargain price.

A full international with Georgia and a regular in a top European division in the Turkish Super Lig, Lobzhanidze ticks a lot of boxes for what Atlanta are looking for in an attacking signing this summer, especially with the player unlikely to want a Designated Player contract.
With an offer now reportedly in and Hatayspot thinking it over, there could soon be some more concrete news on Atlanta’s pursuit for Lobzhanidze, which might soon result in the 28-year-old being announced as the latest member of the Five Stripes family.
