Atlanta United have reportedly made big strides in signing Hatayspor winger Saba Lobzhanidze.
According to journalist Ertan Suzgun, the Five Stripes have made ‘significant progress’ in their attempt to sign the 28-year-old Georgia international, who has impressed in Turkey in the last two seasons.
Atlanta have until the end of this month to secure international transfers with Lobzhanidze linked with a move to MLS for the last few weeks.
And there’s now an expectation in Turkey that Lobzhanidze will be heading to Atlanta, with Gonzalo Pineda’s side keen to add to their forward ranks ahead of the MLS playoff run.
A full Georgia international and a player who has been a regular in the Turkish Super Lig, Lobzhanidze could be heading to MLS at the right stage of his career with the winger now at the peak of his attacking powers.
Atlanta signing Lobzhanidze could be a fantastic midseason move

Lobzhanidze to Atlanta rumors aren’t giving out for a second, and this latest update seems to indicate that the winger is now closing in on a move to Georgia this summer.
At 28, the forward is in the prime of his top-flight career, and Atlanta could land a great short-term signing in Lobzhanidze if a deal can be agreed soon.
As we know, Lobzhanidze has been a regular in the Turkish Super Lig in the last few seasons, and a move to MLS with Atlanta could be a smart move for the Georgia international ahead of the MLS playoff run.
