According to Turkish journalist Yagız Sabuncuoglu, Atlanta remain in talks with the 25-year-old winger, though three MLS clubs are waiting in the wings to pounce for Rossi if talks break down.
Rossi has been heavily linked with a move away from Fenerbahce this summer, with Atlanta the club with the most reported interest in the form Los Angeles FC superstar.
The Uruguay international has failed to make much of an impact with the Turkish giants since signing on a permanent deal last year, and Atlanta could now be willing to take the forward off their books this summer.
With the MLS summer window closing this week, time is not on Atlanta’s side, and this latest update could hint that Rossi might soon join a rival club if a breakthrough fails to materialize.
