The Atlanta Braves have provided an update on Ronald Acuña Jr. after the outfielder left their game against the Chicago White Sox with a hamstring issue.

The Braves announced that Acuña was taken out of the game due to tightness in his left hamstring.

That is the key detail for now. Atlanta have confirmed the issue, but the next stage is still about medical clarity rather than a firm return timeline.

Acuña left the game after he exited against the Chicago White Sox, with MLB.com reporting that he came out in the fourth inning.

The Braves described the problem as left hamstring tightness. They did not announce a fuller diagnosis in their initial team update.

That matters because tightness is not the same as a confirmed strain. It also means the Braves do not yet have to frame this as anything beyond an injury concern.

For Acuña, any lower body issue is always going to draw attention. He is one of Atlanta’s most important players, and the club will want a clearer medical picture before making any further call.

Ronald Acuña Jr to have MRI after early comments

The next step is an MRI, with Acuña waiting for further tests before the Braves have a clearer answer.

His own update was measured. Acuña said he did not feel any pain and described the issue as tightness before waiting to see what the MRI showed.

That does not remove concern, but it does keep the story in the right place. The Braves have not announced a timetable, and there is no value in moving beyond what has been confirmed.

Manager Walt Weiss also offered a cautiously positive update, saying the injury was not believed to be as bad as the previous issue.

Acuña’s recent injury history makes that context relevant. He returned to the Braves lineup in May 2025 after a long recovery from ACL surgery.

For now, the Braves have confirmed the immediate reason for Acuña’s exit and the MRI will decide the next stage. Until those results are known, the responsible reading is simple: Atlanta have an injury concern, but not yet a confirmed long-term setback.
