Chris Sutton said on BT Sport 1 (2:57pm, January 2, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur are “highly unlikely” to win the Premier League title this season.
The former Chelsea striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, praised Tottenham for their performance against Leeds United at the weekend.
Sutton said that Spurs were at their best in the 3-0 win against Leeds at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
However, the Englishman does not think that Jose Mourinho’s side will go on to win the league title this season.
Sutton said on BT Sport 1 (2:57pm, January 2, 2021) when asked if Tottenham can win the title: “Highly unlikely. I actually thought this was Spurs at their best. I think we expected the game to pan out like it did.”
Tottenham Hotspur are title challengers
Tottenham may not be very pleasing to the eye, but the North London club are winning matches and getting the job done.
Mourinho is a serial winner, and the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss knows how to get the best out of his players.
With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are banging in the goals for fun, Spurs have a very potent attack.
Toby Alderweireld and Hugo Lloris are very experienced players, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made Spurs better, stronger and more solid in the middle of the park.
