Liverpool duo Naby Keita and Neco Williams have both returned from injury ahead of this week’s UEFA Champions League clash against FC Porto, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
According to the Independent, the Reds pair both participated in a session before flying out to Portugal. Keita missed last weekend’s Premier League clash against Brentford, whilst Williams has been out all season due to an ankle injury.
Moreover, the Reds manager told the press via the Liverpool Echo that they have travelled to Portugal with a full squad except for players with long-term injuries, such as Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott.
Klopp said about the latest injury news: “A big squad will travel. 23 are with us and apart from the longer-term injuries, they are all in. No Thiago, Harvey and the rest available. No new concerns at the moment.”
The news will come as a massive relief for Klopp. The Liverpool boss will be keen to rotate the squad this week. The Merseyside giants face off against Manchester City on the weekend.
Indeed, Porto will be a big test for Liverpool after their 3-2 win against AC Milan in the opening week of the Champions League. The Red are one of the favourites for the competition, with Klopp’s side flying in the Premier League.

Moreover, the return of Keita and Williams will further add to Liverpool’s squad depth. The Guinea international has been impressive this season, whilst the Welsh right-back remains a good understudy for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
With Liverpool already on the board in their Champions League group, a second win will be key if they are to make it to the Round of 16 as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
