Ian Wright has confidently predicted that Leeds United are going to demolish someone in the Premier League this season, while speaking live to Premier League Productions’ MatchDay Extra.

Leeds have now racked up 87 shots in their games against Everton, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City this season, but have not always been particularly ruthless.

The Whites did manage to beat Everton at the weekend, but only thanks to a late strike from Raphina.

The Brazilian took aim from long range to secure the three points and ensured that Leeds profligacy in front of goal did not cost them again.

Wright was highly impressed by Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s performance, even if the scoreline didn’t quite accurately reflect their dominance.

And the former Arsenal man has now stated that he thinks Leeds will give a team a mauling, when they do start taking their chances.

“I like Leeds a lot. I like their philosophy, they don’t change the way they play,” Wright said.

“They make a lot of chances and someone, at some stage, is going to get a real hiding off of Leeds once they start taking those chances.”

Leeds were actually guilty of missing chances regularly last season on their way to the Championship title, so it is a long term problem for them.

Thankfully for Bielsa’s side, they have still been able to compete well since promotion.

Leeds’ win over Everton has pushed them into 12th place in the Premier League table, and they are already nine points clear of the relegation zone.
