Martin Keown has written in The Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte could change the positions of Lucas Moura and Emerson Royal like he did with Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta at Chelsea.

The Arsenal legend has pointed out that at Chelsea, Conte used Moses regularly and also moved Azpilicueta in central defence.

The BBC Sport pundit believes that the former Inter Milan boss could do something similar with two players at Spurs.

Keown thinks that Moura, who is a winger by trade and cost £25 million (Sky Sports), could be deployed at right wing-back.

The Englishman has added that Conte could even deploy right-back Emerson Royal, who cost £26 million (The Sun), in central defence as part of his back-three.

Keown wrote in The Daily Mail: “Who he uses at right wing-back will be interesting, too.

“At Chelsea, Victor Moses went from being surplus to a regular starter. That included Cesar Azpilicueta being moved to the right of the back three.

“We could even see Lucas Moura at right wing-back and Emerson Royal as a central defender.

“We played with three at the back under Bruce Rioch at Arsenal and always had questions about it. It takes intelligence to implement

“Thankfully for Tottenham, they’ve appointed a master at teaching players in double-quick time.”

Exciting times ahead for Spurs

Conte does like to play a back-three, and it will be interesting to see what he does at Spurs.

As Keown points out, the former Chelsea boss can teach players new positions quickly.

However, we have to say that it is also up to the players to get to grips with their new roles.

Tottenham players will have to work extremely hard under Conte, who is a serial winner and will want to win trophies with the North London club.
