Bolasie is currently on loan from Everton to Aston Villa.

The former Everton defender, Michael Ball, has accused Yannick Bolasie of costing Aston Villa points after the on-loan winger was lauded on Twitter.

Bolasie, who is due to spend the season at Villa from Everton, went viral after nut-megging Leeds United’s Luke Ayling during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat.

Leeds’ winner arrived in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time and not long after the DR Congo international had spurned a golden chance to put the Villans back in front.

And it is that, not the “fantastic skill” that preceded it, for which Bolasie should be remembered, according to Ball.

The 39-year-old wrote on Twitter:

Bolasie, who is reported to have cost Everton £25 million from Crystal Palace two-and-a-half years ago, has scored two goals and created another four since his summer move to Aston Villa.

The 29-year-old has made 16 appearances in total – 11 of which have arrived from the substitutes’ bench.
