David Moyes believes Sunderland will be the biggest team in the Championship next season.

Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to joke that Sunderland boss David Moyes must think that Aston Villa are in the Premier League, after claiming that the Black Cats will be the biggest team in the Championship next term.
Sunderland’s relegation was confirmed last month following a 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, but they did at least respond last weekend, beating Hull City 2-0 away from home.
It has been a dismal campaign for manager Moyes, and Sunderland’s almost annual escape act hasn’t arrived this season, with the Black Cats dropping back into the second tier again.
Key players Jordan Pickford, Lamine Kone and Jermain Defoe are almost certainly heading back to the Premier League this summer, and Moyes must work hard to bring in quality players this summer.
Sunderland manager David Moyes
Moyes told the Sunderland Echo earlier this week that he believes Sunderland will be the biggest club in the Championship next season, and that should help the club attract new signings.
The Championship is a notoriously difficult division to get out of, as the likes of Aston Villa and Leeds United can attest to, and both clubs would lay claim to being bigger than Sunderland.

In fact, one Aston Villa took to Twitter to suggest that Villa owner Tony Xia would have something to say about Moyes’ comments – and he certainly did.
Xia responded by joking that Moyes must mistakenly believe that Villa – who finished 13th in the Championship this season – are actually in the Premier League, as he couldn’t have thought that Sunderland were bigger than the Villans.
