Chelsea-owned Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham has told The Express & Star that he hopes to score around 20 goals this season.

Abraham joined Championship club Villa on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old striker has yet to make his debut for the Villans, although The Express & Star reports that the youngster is expected to make his bow against Blackburn Rovers away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship on Saturday evening.

Abraham – who earns £50,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has suggested that he wants to score around 20 goals for Steve Bruce’s side this season.

“That was an unbelievable season at Bristol City,” Abraham told The Express & Star. “I made a breakthrough. It helped going into Swansea last year. It gives people a good eye on you.

“This year I would like to push on. If I come here and get 20-odd goals again, people will see me as a proper goalscorer.”

Exciting comments

Abraham has proved himself in the Championship, with the England international striker scoring 23 goals and providing three assists in 40 Championship starts during his loan spell at Bristol City during the 2016-17 season, according to WhoScored.

Villa are not in great form at the moment, and Abraham will have to hit the ground running.

If the Chelsea-owned striker is able to hit the 20-goal mark in the Championship for Villa this season, then there is a very good chance that the Villans will end up in the top six of the table.
