The 24-year-old moved to Villa Park from Brentford on transfer deadline day, for a fee believed to be in the region of £9 million plus potential add-ons, and made his debut for Steve Bruce’s side during their disappointing 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Hogan is in line to start again at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday, and told the Express & Star how he is desperate to open his goalscoring account for Villa, especially in front of the home fans:

“I can’t wait to score my first goal – I want to do that quickly and then kick on. I have scored goals in front of 3,000 at Rochdale, 10,000 at Brentford. To score in front of 40,000 plus at Villa Park will be one of the very best things I have done in my life, without a shadow of a doubt.”

The Villans have been on a really poor run of late, and currently sit in 14th position in the Championship table, 13 points adrift of the play-off spots, after going six league games without a win.
