Sheffield United reportedly wanted to sign Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa star Scott Hogan has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at returning to training.
Villa manager Steve Bruce has told the club’s official website that Hogan, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, is back in light training after four months.
The 26-year-old himself has taken to Twitter to express his delight at his progress from injury.
The Republic of Ireland international was linked with a move away from Villa in the summer transfer window.
The Star reported last weekend that Sheffield United were planning to hold talks with the Villans regarding the signing of Hogan on loan.
Hogan, who joined Villa from Championship rivals Brentford in January 2017 for an initial transfer fee reported by ESPN to be worth £9 million, is now set to stay at Villa Park until January at least.
As Hogan’s post on Twitter suggests, the 26-year-old Republic of Ireland international does not seem fussed that he is still at Villa and not at Championship rivals United.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old winger Andre Green has taken to Twitter to give his reaction after joining League One club Portsmouth on loan from Championship rival Villa in the summer transfer window.
