Has an Aston Villa youngster given an insight into Chelsea’s first-team for their clash with Liverpool?
Aston Villa youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy has tweeted that Chelsea will start 19-year-old Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their Premier League clash with Liverpool this afternoon.
Loftus-Cheek is a central midfielder who has made two previous appearances for the Blues but now looks set to make his first top flight start for the newly-crowned Premier League champions.
Hepburn-Murphy took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon to write the following message to his followers: “Rube Loftus-cheek starting in Chelsea’s first-team today.”
Hepburn-Murphy made his senior debut for Villa earlier this season, coming on as a second-half substitute against Sunderland.
The 16-year-old is yet to add to that single appearance for Tim Sherwood’s side but the future looks very bright for him; just as it does for a player three years his senior in Loftus-Cheek.
With the Premier League title won, it gives Chelsea the chance to give more chances to some of their younger players, and it seems Loftus-Cheek is one of the first to take advantage of that particular situation.
