Aston Villa’s Robert Snodgrass wary of Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic

West Ham United-owned Aston Villa winger Robert Snodgrass has told Sky Sports that Newcastle United-owned striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will be a key player for Fulham.

Villa will take on Fulham at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Championship playoffs final this evening.

Mitrovic, who joined the Cottagers on loan from Premier League club Newcastle in the January transfer window, is set to lead the line for the London club.

As for Snodgrass, who joined Villa on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side West Ham in the summer of 2017, the former Leeds United winger is likely to start for Steve Bruce’s side.

The 30-year-old Scotland international, who earns £40,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, believes that Mitrovic will be a key player for Fulham this evening.

Snodgrass told Sky Sports about Mitrovic: “Cairney is a great player, but for me what has kicked him on is Mitrovic. He holds the ball well, he runs the channels, he brings others into play.

“He has sort of brought that Premier League class into Fulham and they have not looked back since they signed him.”

Major threat

Mitrovic has been superb for Fulham since his loan move from Newcastle in the January transfer window.

The Serbia international striker has has scored 12 goals and provided one assist in 17 Championship starts for the Cottagers.
