Aston Villa ace Robert Snodgrass spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 4-1 win over Wolves on Saturday, and raved about the man-management skills of Steve Bruce, likening the Villa boss to the great Sir Alex Ferguson, as quoted by the Express & Star.

The Villans are currently in the midst of a superb run of form, having lost just once in the Championship since Boxing Day, and they now sit in third spot in the table, just seven points adrift of leaders Wolves.

Snodgrass himself has played a crucial role in his side’s successful campaign thus far, after joining on loan from West Ham in the summer, and has chipped in with eight goals and 11 assists in 31 Championship outings.

The 30-year-old offered high words of praise for his manager, when speaking to reporters, explaining why the players will go to any lengths for the 57-year-old, as quoted by the Express & Star:

“Players will run through a brick wall for him, He’s just got that hold of you, he has the traits of Ferguson in that he gets the best out of players. When I came here he was under a little bit of pressure, we were 18th at the time. I can understand that pressure, because when we were at Hull we were used to being up at the top all the time in the Championship. I think you need to be behind the scenes to see how good he is. All the lads love him and respect him and he gives the lads a bit of license.”

Next up for the west Midlands outfit is a home game against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow night, and nothing less than a win will do, if they harbour serious ambitions of achieving automatic promotion this term.
