John Swift is keen to secure a move to Sheffield United this summer despite Aston Villa’s interest in the £3.5 million Reading play-maker, according to The Star.

The one-time Chelsea youngster is in advanced talks over a move to Sheffield United.
According to reports from South Yorkshire, Swift could now look to force through what would be a £3.5 million as he is keen to play under Chris Wilder.
Given that the Blades boss has transformed lower league veterans like George Baldock, Chris Basham, John Egan and John Fleck into established top-flight stars, you can see why.
The Reading Chronicle reported on Wednesday that Aston Villa had identified the cultured Swift as a potential replacement for captain fantastic Jack Grealish.
Only Matheus Pereira, Jed Wallace and Niclas Eliasson produced more than Swift’s ten assists in 2019/20 after all.
But, with Sheffield United now full steam ahead, it seems that Aston Villa’s interest is unlikely to amount to anything at this late stage.
