Tammy Abraham has exceeded expectations this season on loan at Bristol City, bagging 26 goals in all competitions.

A report in the Birmingham Mail at the end of last month indicated Aston Villa are highly keen on signing the prolific youngster, most likely on a loan deal.

Now their chances of doing so have suffered a serious blow.

The London Evening Standard report Chelsea have been ‘flooded’ with offers from clubs to take the striker next season, the majority coming from Premier League sides.

Chelsea have not ruled out keeping him, but are determined to land a big name striker themselves, aiming for Romelu Lukaku.

The Standard claim that Chelsea have decided that if Abraham does leave, it will only be to a Premier League side.

Everton, Leicester City and Burnley are three clubs named in the report who are interested.

Abraham has been one of the finds of the season, transferring his prolific form at youth level to competitive football.

23 of his 26 goals have come in the league, leaving him only narrowly behind Leeds’ Chris Wood in the top scorers charts.

Villa could do with getting a striker in due to Jonathan Kodjia’s injury and Ross McCormack’s uncertain status. They will likely have to look elsewhere.
