Aston Villa’s new assistant John Terry claims he’s already been told off by Dean Smith

Aston Villa will take on Swansea City in Dean Smith’s first match in charge at the weekend.

New Aston Villa assistant manager John Terry has revealed Dean Smith has already told him off in training… for wearing white boots.

On his official Instagram channel, Terry put up a picture of himself coaching at Villa for the first time.

And Phil Neville was quick to give his former England teammate some stick on the social media website.

He said: “Coaches can’t wear white boots, JT’.

Terry quipped back, saying he had realised the error of his ways, after a word from Smith.

‘The gaffer has already told me,” Terry jokingly responded.

Terry and Smith are preparing Villa ahead of their first game in the dugout together at the weekend.

The claret and blues are due to take on Swansea City at Villa Park, as they look to get their season up and running.

Villa have been in poor form of late, which ultimately led to Steve Bruce’s sacking.

And Smith’s new side will be under pressure to start picking up some victories sooner rather than later to ensure they remain in touching distance of the promotion chasers.
