Nottingham Forest should consider a move for the Aston Villa defender.
Forest boss Mark Warburton has a lot of work to do at the City Ground this summer, if he is to build a squad capable of making a sustained push for the play-off spots, in what will be an extremely competitive Championship campaign.
One particular area where the former Rangers manager will want to strengthen is the defensive department, after the Reds conceded 72 goals in 46 Championship outings least season – something that proved to be a major contributing factor to their struggles.
With this in mind, Forest should consider a move for Aston Villa’s Micah Richards, with Steve Bruce willing to sanction his exit this summer, according to the Mirror.

The 29-year-old would add much needed quality and experience to the east Midlands outfit’s back-line. He is incredibly strong, quick along the ground and is also wonderfully versatile.
The former Manchester City man is equally as proficient when deployed in either the right-back or centre-back position – something that would undoubtedly appeal to Warburton.
The name Micah Richards evokes memories of a powerful, commanding defender, and whilst he has not lived up to that reputation in recent years, a change of scenery, working under a new manager with different philosophies and ideas could be just what he needs to rediscover his best form.
Richards still has two years remaining on his current deal at Villa Park, but with Bruce reportedly keen on selling him, he shouldn’t prove to be too costly, should Forest attempt to sign him.
And if Warburton does manage to bring the former England international to the City Ground, it could turn out to be a real coup for the east Midlands outfit.
