Leeds United should ask Aston Villa about the Ivorian hitman.

It looks like Leeds United will be needing a Kemar Roofe replacement – and fast.

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed on Sunday that the United hitman may be leaving West Yorkshire, amid speculation of a move to Anderlecht.

Leeds may only have some three days to find and sign another striker – and Aston Villa’s Jonathan Kodjia could be perfect.

The Villans have already brought Wesley to the West Midlands in a £22 million deal and Dean Smith is rumoured to be interested in signing another forward.

By Thursday, Kodjia might have very little role to play at Aston Villa and he’d be great for Leeds.

This is a player who scored 19 Championship goals on his debut season in England. In three years at Elland Road, Roofe never got past the 15-goal mark.

The Ivory Coast international cost the Villans £15 million three years ago [ESPN], a fee that Bielsa can’t afford, but the Whites have been predominantly in the loan market this summer and getting him for the 2019-20 campaign initially might be an ideal solution.

Kodjia might well be needed at Aston Villa, but if Smith signs another hitman then he isn’t needed and there’s no harm in Leeds asking the question.
