The Aston Villa star made headlines on international duty last night.

Magomed Ozdoev of Russia and John McGinn of Scotland vie for the ball during the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier between Russia and Scotland on October 10, 2019 in Moscow, Russia.

Aston Villa star John McGinn’s stock is set to rise even higher on the back of his heroics on Sunday night.

The Scotland international scored a hat-trick in last night’s 6-0 demolition of San Marino in Euro 2020 qualifying.

McGinn, a star for Aston Villa in the Premier League this season, scored a first-half treble in downing the minnows and it’ll raise his profile that bit more.

The former Hibernian midfielder has already scored goals against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal this season, justifying why the Villans were reportedly looking for £50 million for him this past summer [The Sun].

The 24-year-old has only been at Bodymoor Heath for a little over a year, but some Aston Villa and neutral fans on Twitter believe that he’s already destined for bigger and better things, even if it was only against San Marino.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

January might come a little early for the McGinn exit rumours, but one thing for sure is he certainly seems to be growing too big for Aston Villa – and if Dean Smith’s side lose their relegation battle to stay in the top flight, it’s a no-brainer that he’ll leave.
