People have varying views about the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo so early into his Aston Villa reign, but either way the conversation looks set to carry on for quite some time.
The vacancy at the club has led to a wide variety of names being mentioned in the bookies, which is likely to be quite disruptive for the players at the club. As reported by ESPN, midfielder Mile Jedinak has spoken out on the decision to sack the Italian.
“It’s disappointing, but the manager’s going to be the first to be put under pressure,” Jedinak told ESPN.
“I’m not trying to shift responsibility — everybody needs to take a look at themselves and we need to rectify what’s happened.
“Coming here and getting away from that environment for a bit, you can take a step back and think a bit clearer but it’s never nice.

“I’ve experienced it a few times at club level, when a manager goes. It doesn’t become any easier, but it’s part and parcel.”
Jedinak was one of Di Matteo’s signings in the summer which may make the transition slightly more difficult for the Australian. He made the reluctant switch from Crystal Palace where he spent five years of his career.
Whatever the case, the players will have to adjust to life without the Italian as they look to get their season back on track. They currently find themselves closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs, and with a tough game against Midlands rivals Wolves on the horizon they need to focus.
