Jed Steer is hopeful that he has passed the half-way point in his recovery from Achilles reconstructive surgery.
The Aston Villa goalkeeper, who has been sidelined since the start of November, posted on Twitter: “3 months ago this evening I had my achilles reconstructed…hopefully today is the half way point.. let’s kick on.”

And given the form of Steer’s fellow Villa shot-stoppers during his absence, many supporters are desperate to get him back.
Steer moved to Villa Park three-and-a-half-years ago from Norwich City, but has made just four competitive appearances for the Midlands side.

Having impressed on loan to Huddersfield Town last season, however, the 24-year-old’s chance was perhaps only a matter of time coming.
Instead, it was Mark Bunn who filled in after the form of Pierluigi Gollini dipped, with Sam Johnstone seizing the former’s place after signing from Manchester United in January.

However, with Bunn and Johnstone’s deals due to expire this summer, Steer’s return might just be timed to perfection.
