Aston Villa could only claim a 0-0 draw with West Ham United last night, even though Manuel Pellegrini’s side were sent down to 10 men.

After Villa pair Anwar El Ghazi and Tyrone Mings squared up, Dean decided to wait for the decision to be checked by VAR.
El Ghazi actually moved his head towards Mings in the flair up, but it was not deemed a red card offence.
And Villa captain Grealish couldn’t understand why Dean decided to check the video replay.
“I did say the to ref, what are you even checking for? But he said that he had to,” Grealish said.
“It was all squashed when we got into the changing room and we came out raring to go.”
Dean was at the centre of the attention last night, as Villa and West Ham played out a 0-0 draw.

The experienced referee could have sent Mark Noble off for two yellow card offences in the first half, but he avoided punishment for going down cheaply inside the Villa box.
It was Arthur Masuaku who was ultimately given his marching orders for West Ham, but the decision to give the left-back a second booking looked an extremely harsh one.
Grealish actually arguably had Villa’s best chance to win the match, but he fluffed his lines when well placed, and West Ham ultimately held on to claim a point, despite their numerical disadvantage.
