Jack Grealish has taken to Twitter to express his excitement about his return to Dean Smith’s side following reports from the Daily Mirror that Aston Villa will be without the playmaker for another three games.

Grealish has been missing for the Villans’ last seven fixtures after picking up a shin injury during the 2-2 draw with West Brom last month. And his absence has seemingly had a negative impact on their form.

Smith’s men have won just once during that run, and they have also failed to score in their last two games, losing 3-0 in both. But unfortunately for Villa, his return is still some way off.

The Daily Mirror reports that he is back running, but he will miss Villa’s next three fixtures before potentially returning for February’s clash with Sheffield United.

The news is a major blow for Villa’s promotion hopes. They clearly have the potential to surge up the table and force their way into the top six, but they seem to be starting to run out of time to get their act together.

And plenty of Villans supporters will now be counting down the days until Grealish is back in the ranks. And judging by the midfielder’s latest tweet, it seems he is itching just as much to get back out on the pitch.
