Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has stated on Instagram that his move to then League One side Notts County was ‘one of the best decisions’ he made during his career.

In 2013, Grealish embarked on the road which was going to begin his Villa career when he moved to Notts County on a youth loan and he impressed during his time at the club.

Grealish scored five goals and supplied seven assists for Notts County as he impressed at Meadow Lane – and since then he has gone on to captain Villa.

Nonetheless, Grealish posted this message about that Notts County loan on his personal Instagram account.

It wasn’t long after before Grealish was given his senior Villa debut by Paul Lambert, but it was Tim Sherwood who really gave him the opportunity in the first-team.

Villa’s relegation not long after didn’t help, but during these past three seasons, he has become an important player for the club, with Dean Smith making him the captain in March.

On Monday night, Grealish will be hoping he can guide Villa to a win against in-form West Ham – Smith’s side have picked up one win from their opening four matches.
