Aston Villa will be bitterly disappointed in how they let their lead slip against 10-man Arsenal on Sunday.
Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has stated on Instagram that he is ‘gutted’ his team were beaten by Arsenal at the weekend, with Gabby Agbonlahor congratulating him on how he played in the game.
Dean Smith’s side took the lead against Arsenal on two occasions, with the home team also down to 10 men, but they couldn’t walk away from the Emirates with maximum points.
John McGinn put Villa in front in the first half after a brilliant cross from Anwar El Ghazi, whilst Wesley put Villa back into the lead after the hour mark following a brilliant run by Grealish on the left-hand side.
Whilst Villa’s attacking play was brilliant in the first half, they did begin to fade and drop back, which ended up proving to be costly.
This is the message Grealish posted on his personal Instagram, with Agbonlahor issuing this four-word replay, as Callum O’Hare also replied to his message.
Villa have a League Cup game against fellow Premier League side Brighton on Wednesday tonight, as Dean Smith could make a number of changes to his squad.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the likes of Grealish don’t start because at the end of the day, Villa’s clash against Burnley at the weekend is more important.
But, on the other hand, Smith may want to use some of his first-team stars in order to get some form and that winning feeling into them, but that would be a risk.
