Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has revealed to Sky Sports, during their live Nation’s League coverage, that Gareth Southgate praised him in the dressing room, after England’s defeat to Belgium last night.
Grealish was England’s star man on the night, with his performance catching the eye, despite the disappointing result for the Three Lions.
Southgate publicly praised Grealish after the match, and when the Villa man was asked what the Three Lions’ boss said to him in the dressing room, it seems the England boss was very positive with him.
“He praised me after the game, which was nice,” Grealish said.
“He’s been brilliant with me since I first came here in September. He’s told me what I need to do to get into the side and I’ve gone away and worked on that.
“He’s been brilliant with me and he’s obviously given me some praise after the game, which is really nice.”

Southgate has not always been the most forthcoming with praise for Grealish, but the England boss was left with little choice but to credit the Villa star last night.
Grealish dictated England’s attacking play in what was his very first competitive appearance for his country.
Grealish is now surely likely to start again on Wednesday evening, when the Three Lions take on Iceland.
