Villa have reportedly made a move for the Boro man.
As revealed by HITC Sport on Saturday afternoon, Aston Villa have made a move to sign winger Albert Adomah from Middlesbrough.
The 28-year-old Ghanaian joined Boro from Bristol City three years ago and has been a key man for the club for the majority of his time at the Riverside.
Adomah missed a total of just 10 Championship games in his three full seasons at the club, scoring 12 times in 42 appearances in his debut campaign.
He racked up six goals and six assists last term to help the club to promotion, but has just a single start and substitute appearance to his name so far this season.
With his contract due to expire next summer, it appears as though Boro are willing to cash in on their former star man, and Villa are thought to be leading the chase.
However, a host of other clubs including Premier League trio Southampton, Crystal Palace and Burnley, and Villa’s Championship rivals Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also thought to be interested.
Villa fans are looking for further attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes on Wednesday, and owner Tony Xia suggested on Twitter on Friday that they are close to signing an attacking midfielder or winger.
That player now looks as though it could be Adomah, but Villa fans on Twitter appear to be split as to whether the Boro man would be a good enough signing.
