Henri Lansbury has suffered a number of injuries since arriving at Aston Villa in 2017, which has restricted his game time.

Henri Lansbury posted on Instagram that he is ‘ready to go’ as Aston Villa returned to pre-season on Wednesday ahead of the new season.
Former Villa duo Tyrone Mings and Glenn Whelan responded to his post, with Jack Grealish also sending a message.
The messages were jovial from the trio, who were commenting on Lansbury and Grealish in Villa training on their first day back.
Here is the message from Lansbury, as posted on his personal Instagram account:

Lansbury has become a bit of a forgotten man at Villa Park, with injuries hampering his chances of making a name for himself at the club.
He endured more injury woe last season, but by the time he got back up and running, he struggled to get into Dean Smith’s XI because they were on a 10-match winning run and heading into the playoffs.

Nonetheless, the former Nottingham Forest man will have his chance to prove himself in pre-season and try to stake a claim to be a part of Villa’s Premier League squad.
In terms of central-midfielders, whether they are attack-minded or defensive, Villa are yet to add fresh faces to their squad, but that will no doubt change before the transfer window shuts.
Villa have signed five players since their promotion, including last season’s successful loanee’s Anwar El Ghazi and Kortney Hause.
