Birmingham City have taken Gary Gardner on loan from Aston Villa for the season.
Aston Villa’s Gary Gardner has liked a post on Instagram with the caption ‘the city is blue’.
Gardner, who is still contracted to Villa, but is currently on loan at their rivals, Birmingham City, was seen liking the post from a Blues fan account on Instagram.
The social media move has aggravated Villa fans, although the midfielder appeared to have little future at Villa Park anyway.
Gardner has been loaned out a number of times, with Birmingham the latest in a long list of clubs he has had temporary spells at.
Gardner has made eight appearances for Birmingham on his loan spell so far, and has generally impressed since arriving from Villa.
Birmingham are currently four points behind Villa in the Championship standings, but Garry Monk’s side did impressively beat Leeds United in their most recent match.
Villa, meanwhile, are in poor form – having won just once in their last eight outings.
