Emiliano Buendia does play in Claret & Blue on a weekly basis, but it seems as though he has got Aston Villa and West Ham mixed up.

The Villa playmaker has mistakingly made reference to the East London club when posting a one-word message about training.

West Ham are known as the Hammers, with their logo being a crossed pair of Hammers, which can also be used as an emoji.

The players and fans of the London club would often use that emoji when talking about their side on social media, as Buendia has used it in his own Twitter post, although it does seem to be an innocent mistake.

The Villa fans have picked up on it in the comments section, with some joking that he is heading to the London Stadium.

Either way, many are just laughing it off, but it’s something that will probably be pointed out to him sooner rather than later.

Buendia was on international duty with Argentina and he will be hoping he can keep his place in Villa’s starting XI.

After making a positive impact from the bench against West Ham a number of weeks ago, Steven Gerrard brought him back into the fold for the visit of Arsenal.

But the West Midlands side produced an abject display during their 1-0 defeat and they will now make the short trip to Wolves at the weekend.

For West Ham, they suffered a costly defeat to Tottenham last time out, as David Moyes is going to welcome his former club, Everton, to the capital, with a certain Frank Lampard in the opposition dugout.
